School's out for summer!!

Today was Braidens last day of school, and it was only for two hours.  So he was free at 11:00 this morning.  We thought that we had to make sure that we celebrated and have a great day!  The weather also decided to finally stop raining, and so it was beautiful out.  We had to take advantage of that for sure.

Here are a couple of pictures of Braiden when he got home from school today.  I love this first one - he is just so cool!
Excited for his freedom to begin!
We headed off to Fernie and grabbed some Subway (which is Braidens favourite place) and went to the  park to eat lunch and play at the playground.
We got Caleb his own sandwich for the first time.  We have always just shared ours with him.  I decided to play it safe and ordered him just a plain ham sandwich.  When we gave him his sandwich he didn't seem to impressed, and ended up taking the rest of Blaines very loaded sandwich and ate that.
Here's Caleb at the playground and eating Blaines sandwich.
Braiden has been dying to go to the bike park so we had to go there after the park.  Of course we forgot all of our helmets.  Brilliant.  So after a quick side trip we got back to riding bikes.  It was Braidens first time there and he was a little apprehensive but he ended up liking it, and hopefully he will get a a bit more brave each time we go.
A couple of pics of him testing out the place
After going over the bumps he ended up riding his bike on the basketball court.
After a busy and amazing day we headed home for a family video game night.  Normally we like to have movie nights, but since this was Braidens day, we had to change it to video games. I think it was a great end of school kind of day.

An upgrade

As some of you know I LOVE to biking (peddle bike that is).  We have always gotten the Canadian Tire bikes, which work just fine, but honestly I have wanted a real road bike for years.  Blaine and I have talked about this a lot.  He figured I should get one, but being as a person that has a hard time spending $20 on myself, buying a "real" bike just wasn't something I could bring myself to do.  So the other day I decided to go for a bike ride with my Canadian Tire bike, and thought I was going to just about die - especially going up those hills.  I was really discouraged with the whole thing.  So Blaine picked up myself and my lovely bike, and said we were headed into Fernie to check out some bikes.
When we got there not only did we end up getting me an amazing new bike, but Blaine got one too.  It honestly made me feel a little less guilty knowing that he was getting a bike as well; especially with the fact that his bike was broken.
Also, Braiden has been riding this way to small bike this year, so yup, he's got one too!  Now we are all ready for the summer!
A pic of our awesome new bikes!
Blaine got to bring his bike home that day, but I had to wait for a week for mine to come in.  I have to admit now that when we got to go pick up my bike, and we were loading it up I actually jumped up and down.   Yep, I did that insane crazy girl thing of jumping up and down while clapping my hands.  Major dork moment but true.

This morning I had to test it out.  And I LOVED IT!!  Blaine actually got in the van and drove ahead of me and took some pictures.  I didn't care because I was just so happy to be out there.
I am so pumped for this summer and plan on doing a whole lot of biking!  Sounds awesome doesn't it?
